“Fjordstova” – Visitor Centre

 

FJORDSTOVA is a meeting point summer and winter, for the inhabitants and for the tourists. The building is open from morning until late night for those who want to have a look. We have staffed opening hours as listed under:

CAFÈ Open 20.6-31.8 daily

The Cafè offers lunch and dinner every day, as well as cakes, waffles, ice cream, soda water, chocolate and coffee/tea.

Open Tuesday and Friday (cafè 18.00 – 21.00) and Sunday (cafè and dinner 16.00 – 19.00) in winter time.

SWIMMINGPOOL                 12,5 m x 6 m in size, as well as a pool for children. Depth 1,5 meter. 28 degrees Celsius in water, 30 in the air. Wardrobes and toilets. Children of 10 years old and below this age must always be accompanied by grown-ups. We do not have a life guard. Buy tickets in the cafè, day or for all year. Always open when the cafè is open. The guests in Skjolden Hotel have free usage of the pool all day by using a key provided by the hotel staff.

TOILETS                          Free use of toilets,, toilet for disabled with facilities for babies.

CLIMBING WALL                   12 meters high, 7 squares. Rental of harness and rope. Knowledge about safety is needed from one in the group.

SHOOTING RANGE               25 meter, pistol and rifle, caliber 22. Rental through agreement with the local shooting association/pistol club.

EXHIBITIONS                         Breheimen National Park exhibition. Wittgenstein exhibition. Ibsen and Grieg on the Sognefjell mountain pass. Sales exhibition of watercolor paintings of the mountains and the landscapes in this area. Made by the local artist Signe Fortun Weka.

FITNESS STUDIO                   Fitness room with different exercisers. Buy year card with a key deposit in the cafè.

HALL                                        On the ground floor there is a banquet hall with amphitheater for 135 persons. Total capacity is approx. 200/250 persons. Easy access for trucks. Projector, screen and separate control room. Connecting wardrobe with shower and toilets.

CONFERENCE ROOMS         The rooms «Gamleposten», «Wittgenstein-room» og «Hemsen» can seat approx. 20 – 50 persons and can be hired. The Cafè has a capacity of approx. 150. Screen and projector available.

MOVIE ROOM                       A room with walls of glas and comfortable chairs for approx. 15 persons. Big screen, projector, DVD player, Apple-TV and Nettflix. Can be hired for smaller meetings, e.g. for skype meetings.

RENTAL OF FJORDSTOVA   Fjordstova is suitable for meeting, conference, wedding, funeral and other private parties. Please contact us for a reasonable offer!

HUSFLIDSBUA                       Souvenir shop with locally produced handicraft and gifts from Luster and other parts of the country. Open in the peak season and on request.

PARKING                                Fjordstova offers free parking for everybody, near the entrance and down by the river.
